Why We Should Not Let Babies Cry

The child’s job is to cry , according to an oriental saying. For babies, the most important way to communicate their desires is by crying. So how should your helpless baby feel if no one pays any attention to him when he demands it? Why should we not let babies cry?

Crying is the second ” umbilical cord .” Children cry for many reasons, but usually they want attention . How would you feel if people never listened to you when you asked for something? This is how your helpless baby feels if, when he demands attention, he does not get it.

For some parents, babies should be allowed to cry , because if they run to the baby every time the baby cries, pamper them and show them who is responsible for whom. For other parents, the child should not cry so much because it causes irreparable harm.

Negative consequences of letting babies cry

Uncertainty

If after a while they are not taken away when they scream, they can stop crying. They feel that the person taking care of them is not responding. They cry again. In case there is no answer , they feel abandoned and insecure.

Broken ties

If the situation continues for a long time and is repeated frequently, the child feels abandoned. At first he is angry, and at last he gives up. Broken ties begin to multiply. Since he does not receive love, he does not learn to love.

Criminal acts

The conscience does not develop properly . He does not trust anyone, he does not care about everyone. He becomes a problem child and in extreme cases develops a psychopathic personality who is unable to feel remorse for criminal acts.

Shaken baby syndrome

If the baby does not stop crying, it can be annoying; Some caregivers are desperate about the situation and they start shaking the newborn and causing shaken baby syndrome, even for a few seconds, this can cause irreversible neurological damage.

Positive Consequences

Recent studies, however , show that when the newborn is hungry, uncomfortable or upset, their body releases stress hormones and they express discomfort by crying.

It is said that when the father or mother responds and meets the needs of the child, they begin to create the connections in the brain that will help them calm down. The creature that has received due attention produces less cortisol, a stress hormone.
