1. Bathe your baby in warm water

One of the most relaxing ways to get your baby to sleep is to bathe him in water that is a bit warm. Before bathing your child, it is very important that you check that the temperature of the bath water is a maximum of 37 degrees. This is important to prevent your child from getting burned.

When he’s in the water, let him splash around as much as he likes. That way he uses as much energy as possible. Rock him quietly and if he is very restless, then place two bags of chamomile in the water as this plant works well as a natural muscle relaxant.

2. Relaxing massage

The next step in getting your baby to sleep is to apply a relaxing massage. After 5 minutes you can take him out of the bath, wipe him very gently with a soft towel.

After this, you can  massage him by placing your palms on his chest  and massaging very gently. Massage by letting your hands slide out to the side. Then roll him over on the other side and move your hands very gently from the neck to the back. Be careful never to press on the spine.

Give him comfortable pajamas

It is very important that your baby does not get cold at night. It is one of the things that can create a greater risk of sudden infant death syndrome. At the same time, it will also make it difficult for your baby to fall asleep.

The best thing you can do is  give him a pair of pajamas made of moisture-wicking fabric.

4. The last feeding of the day

Like almost all newborns, your baby is guaranteed to love the last feeding of the day. It is normal that he needs to relax in your lap when he has spent a lot of energy.

While this is happening, it is important that you speak to him in a low voice. At the same time, it is important that you honor his face and back.

5. Help him burp

When he has finished eating, he needs to burp. Then it will feel more comfortable for him to sleep. Make him relax on your shoulder and pat him very gently on the back. You can also place him face down in your lap, and pat gently on his back.

If he does not manage to burp, then he will have a hard time falling asleep. This may mean that you will have to wake up several times during the night to take care of him.

6. Rock him and sing a song

The next step in getting a baby to sleep is to rock him and sing a song for him. After changing his diaper, make sure to draw the curtains. Then hold him in your arms for a while.

This cradle will mean to him that the day’s activities are now over. That the time has now come to sleep. Slowly you can adjust the movement and rhythm of your breathing. Then he can relax, feel free to add a song.

7. Put him in the manger

When your baby is about to fall asleep, place him very gently in the crib. Do this without making any sudden movements. That way, the transition to sleep will be relaxed for him.

It is important that you  do not forget to place a handkerchief with your scent by his side. This will make him feel more secure.

Using these techniques, your baby will have far fewer problems sleeping. At the same time, there will be a greater chance that he will sleep through the night.

Remember that you should exercise these steps every day. That way, your child will get used to them, and over time become completely accustomed to them.
