Happiness: Waking Up With Dad And Baby

Happiness: Waking Up With Dad And Baby

Happiness is waking up together. Opening your eyes up to a new day, feeling the baby’s breathing and the closeness between father and mother is the essence of the word: happiness .

Few scenes will remain in the memory of these parents as the intimate moments of the morning. The moments that are shared with a new life are inscribed in our brains with love, with the glue of partnership, and through the keyhole of well-being, where we will look to the future and remember the magical moments.

After all, waking up together is the essence of co-sleeping. A personal practice that only parents can choose to do together. It is clear that not everyone agrees. We know there are those who go to the pediatrician and keep it a secret that they are sleeping with their baby. We kind of fear the reaction of the professionals, who warn us of risks, in case there is something we do not do properly.

But instinct is wise, and fathers know how to prepare the bed, how to place the baby, and what to do all the time, so rest is never contrary to safety. There will be time for the little one to sleep alone in his own room, which is something that comes with time. And that is something he himself will ask for when we least expect it.

Until then, mom and dad are still building nests while enjoying the magical moments of waking up with their baby close to both of them…

Waking up by your side is balance, peace and happiness

The baby, who wakes up several times during the night, has no problem at all. There is nothing wrong with him. He’s not always sick. He is not a troublesome child. He is a normal baby who wants only one thing: the presence of his mother.

We need to remember that when a baby is born, his brain is still very immature. It needs three things: food, security and routine. The latter is what will help you regulate his circadian rhythms a bit so he can distinguish between day and night. So he can understand that one should rest after a bath. And that mom is always here when needed. That he should not be afraid, for he will always be cared for, cared for and fed.

This biological and emotional stability comes with time. It is around the age of 3 when the child has a more mature brain structure, which allows for continuous rest through the night without waking up. And without the instinctive “fear” that makes them need their parents constantly. Until then, and if parents want it, co-sleeping can be beneficial.

Thermal synchrony between mother and child

Co-sleeping does not just allow the baby to feel more relaxed, safe and protected. It also allows him to regulate his body temperature better.

  • It is known that when the baby has skin-to-skin contact with the mother, the breast temperature changes according to the baby’s needs. If the baby freezes, the temperature of the breast rises by two degrees to warm him. If the baby is already warm, the temperature of the breast is reduced.
  • This phenomenon is called thermal synchrony, and it has a magical and exclusive purpose: to promote the baby’s care during the first years. This is the place, the mother’s breast, which is a crucial place in the baby’s life.

We are human and we like to have our parents close to us

It is a great benefit to our emotional world, our brain, when we wake up together in the morning and receive a new day where we are close together. This is the simple reason: we are human, we are social beings, and we need to have our parents close to us.

  • This is not just for the sake of the child. Know by knowing that during the first few years, the closeness of the mother and father is the key to the baby’s well-being.
  • But it is also important to remember that mother is the father’s caregiver and father is the mother’s caregiver. The couple feels safe when they are close, when they feel each other. And when they open their eyes in the middle of the night and feel that they are accompanied by the most important person. The one to whom we have given our heart.

Therefore, co-sleeping and nest building with the baby will unite our bonds much more and create more happiness. We are mutual caregivers. We need it. Therefore, it is hugely beneficial for everyone to share a small place together at night.
