Going out and playing in the snow as a family can be a wonderful experience for both children and adults.

Kids love throwing snowballs and making snowmen. Here are 10 games in the snow that, for sure, will create great moments.

Remember that  it is important to only touch the snow with gloves on  so that the little ones do not get cold hands. In addition, make sure that they are wrapped tightly in waterproof clothing.

While it may not work for it, a snowball fight can really make kids soaked. It can cause them to catch a cold.

10 fun games in the snow for the whole family

Whether you get snow where you live or you have to go on a hike in the mountains to enjoy the snow,  do not miss the opportunity to play with your children. You will create wonderful memories!

1. Make a snowman

Let’s start with one of the most basic games. We all know this, but that does not make it any less enjoyable. Who does not want to make a snowman?

The fun lies in gathering the snow together to make the body  and finding elements that can make up the eyes, mouth, clothes, etc. A carrot can be used as a nose, some dead branches can be used as arms, a scarf and a few spruce cones as eyes will all help bring the snowman to life.

2. Snowball fight is one of the classic games in snow

Of all the games in snow that exist, this is probably the most popular and fun. This game does not require much explanation. Simply make snowballs as fast as you can and throw them at your opponent (whether it’s one person or a team). The purpose? To dodge as many snowballs as possible.

You need to make sure that you teach your children not to throw snowballs at people’s faces and that they keep some distance from people. It will help avoid problems.

From the beach to the snow

Have you noticed that, practically, anything you can make in sand, you can also make in snow. Bring buckets and shovels and try to make a castle.

You can take inspiration from the movie  Frost  or any other children’s story you know. You will see how fun and beautiful creations in snow can be.

4. Treasure hunt

It can be really fun to do a little treasure hunt in the snow. Try giving it a little extra touch by  making colored ice cubes like treasures. You can organize teams and, at the end, count how many each person has found.

5. You can play in the snow with a toboggan – a classic

There is no snow trip that is complete without the adrenaline rushing down a hill on a toboggan. If you do not have one, then just calm down. You can find them at a very low price, or even play them.

There are even do-it-yourself solutions. The important thing is that you find an even hill and that you do not leave children alone.

6. Colored snow

Mix water with food coloring in bottles. You can take different colors with you, to make it more fun. You need to make a hole in the lid so you can spray some of the water out and use it to draw with colors in the snow.

7. Play in the snow: Build an igloo

Try building an igloo. It’s not easy, but it can be a lot of fun. Maybe you will even be able to go into it!

8. Recreate a story

Do you remember Hans and Grete? A walk through the mountains can give you a lot to work with. Invite the children to leave a trail, to “know” how to find their way home again.

You’re not going to, for sure, act like the characters in the story and leave bread crumbs because the birds are probably eating them. It is better to use branches, stones or something else from nature. But, do not leave waste!

9. Spor

Another game that is fun to play while walking through the mountains is to try to  identify the tracks you see in the snow. This is true whether it is from people, dogs, cars or, who knows, maybe a more interesting animal.

10. The mouse, the cat and the snow thrower

This is a game for a large group. The more people, the better. Start by selecting three players: the mouse, the cat and the snow thrower. The rest of the players must hold hands in a circle.

The mouse should be inside the circle and the cat should be outside the circle. The snow thrower should stand a few feet away. The cat should try to get into the circle and eat the mouse, while the people in the circle should try to stop the cat. The snow thrower must throw snow to distract them and help the cat.

Have fun with the family by playing in the snow!

Playing in the snow can be fun for the whole family, so do not hold back! Let yourself be carried away! Just make sure you are well dressed and stay warm. In addition, you must always wear waterproof clothing and suitable shoes. It’s the only way you can really enjoy the day and avoid catching a cold.
