Children Need To Hear You Say These 8 Things

We need to feel loved throughout life, to be able to fulfill our potential and constantly improve ourselves. That’s just one of the reasons why it’s so important to tell your kids you love them.

As human beings, we need to be reassured that we are valued, admired, or loved in order to feel good. The same goes for children . The more we are loved, the better our well-being.

Why is it important to tell those we love?

What we mean when we say that it is necessary to give your child love so that they can be emotionally healthy and happy when they are older is that it is important to show our feelings for our children so that they have that’s good. We enhance their well-being through these different expressions of love.

This does not mean that you have to constantly repeat sugary expressions or do everything for them. This way, you end up pampering your children, and it may even encourage controlling behavior that is not the way forward to emotional health.

Verbal love expressions are one of the magic ingredients in this magic potion. A good dose of praise comes with love, understanding and acceptance. In this sense, proponents of “positive doctrine” say that children, through verbal expressions of love, feel protected and not just loved.

8 things you should say to your children

  • I love you! There is never a bad time when you can repeat your feelings for your child and strengthen the emotional bond between you.
  • You make me so happy. What is better for your child than knowing that they are the ones who bring happiness to your home and your heart?
  • You are wonderful. Always remind your child of the good things they can offer. Motivate them to complete what they have started. Help them up when they fall. Build their confidence with a sense of security and let them know what they are worth. Give them the confidence and autonomy to spread their wings, based on what they are and what they can do.
  • I believe in you! This is another expression your child needs to hear. Tell them again and again that with effort and dedication, everyone can become what they want in life. They just have to work for it, with discipline and perseverance. It does not matter if your child occasionally feels that there is something they are “bad” at. Remind them that you believe in them and that you will give them some of the support they need to continue.

I love spending time with you

  • I’m very proud of you. This is without a doubt one of the most important things you can tell your children. Always show them how proud you are of every step they take, no matter how small. It does not matter if these steps are slow; what is important is that they are safe. In other words, tell them how proud you are of the things they do. It will make them stronger.
  • I’m sure you can handle it. Show your child that you have full confidence in their abilities and skills. Keep feeding their abilities when they feel defeated. But do not wait to say it until they feel bad. Try to do it in good times and bad times.
  • I love spending time with you. Be careful with this one. It’s not just a matter of telling them you enjoy their company. It’s a matter of showing it. There is no better upbringing than the one that offers real quality time. You build a bond between you when you spend time with them, do activities and play together.
  • I am grateful for our time together. Explain that you feel that you could not be luckier than from the first time you felt them move in your stomach. Tell them you’ve never been happier than when you first saw them. You will realize that you are not the only one who is grateful. Your children are also happy and grateful to have their mother by their side.

As you can see, these are eight simple things that you can say to your children, but they have unlimited potential. It’s about being good at communicating and expressing your feelings, towards those you love.

If we are able to put our feelings into words, we can give our sons and daughters a good childhood. Remember, your love for them is what shapes their future well-being.
