Toy Story 4 has been a hit since it came out. Millions of people have already been to the cinema to see the latest adventures that Woody, Buzz and their friends are taking on.

It has been 24 years since the first Toy Story movie was released in 1995. But Woody, Buzz and all their friends continue to entertain the audience many years later.

But you may not have noticed that anything has changed. Read this article where we tell you much more.

The many details on the screen

As we mentioned above, it has been 24 years since the original film was first shown. One of the aspects that social media users most often point out is all the details one can enjoy on the screen in Toy Story 4.

The animated details in this film have not gone unnoticed. A good example is the details on the pipe cleaner arms of the film’s new character, Forky.

And do you remember the porcelain shepherdess from the first movie? The details of her clothes in the new film are admirable. In fact, it looks like the clothes have been hand-sewn.

The intensity of the colors and the incredible animation sequences in this movie will blow you away. If you have been following Toy Story from the beginning, you will really appreciate how the animation has evolved to create all of these characters.

The internal and emotional dialogues in Toy Story 4

Bonnie and Forky from Toy Story

The Toy Story saga is known for the sensitivity and the emotions it produces, and the fourth film is without a doubt the most emotionally charged.

Although the film is aimed at a younger audience, the deep conversations that take place touch on the older audience that has grown up with these films. Haven’t we all gone back to our room to check if our toys were alive too?

Other important details in the film

Social inclusion

One of the biggest problems we read and hear about in the news and on social media today is the problem of social inclusion.

One of the aspects of social inclusion is the acceptance of people who have some form of disability. And that’s something Disney has already tried to emphasize before Toy Story 4.

During Bonnie’s first day at school, we see that one of her classmates is deaf. The filmmakers chose to place this boy in the foreground of the film. We discover his disability as we can see his cochlear implant (an advanced hearing aid).

By doing this, Disney is teaching us a very important and valuable lesson. They show both children and adults that it is important that we accept and include people with disabilities. In addition, they represent people with disabilities and give them a character they can relate to.

References to other Disney movies

Arousing emotion  is one of the purposes that these films have when it comes to older viewers. For this reason, Disney fans will experience these references to previous Disney movies when watching Toy Story 4:

  • One of Bonnie’s classmates is Boo, who is one of the main characters in the 2001 movie, Monsters, Inc.
  • The toy biker in the antique shop was also part of a previous Disney movie. In The Incredibles (2004), he belonged to the family’s youngest child, Jack Jack.

Gender Equality in Toy Story 4

Buzz, Woody and the Shepherdess from the Disney movie

The evolution of Disney, which is evident in Toy Story 4, is much more than just the details of the animation. Disney is also taking an important step when it comes to breaking stereotypes and promoting gender equality.

In the first Toy Story movie, we see Bo Peep in a flashy dress with polka dots. But her look is completely different when she returns in the latest film. Here we see her in a light blue trouser suit, and besides, she also has a cloak on now.

The original dress did not let Bo Peep show that she was much more than a doll decorating a lamp. Now we see her as a warrior, a protector and the mastermind behind the adventures that take place in Toy Story 4.

Her strong personality is what makes her one of the main characters in the film. The sweet shepherdess has become a heroic warrior whose significance is more relevant than ever before.
