When Your Baby Falls For The First Time

It is difficult to prevent a baby from falling, but there are many ways you can prevent a baby from falling. In today’s article we tell you how.
When your baby falls for the first time

It’s scary when your baby falls for the first time. Suddenly he is lying on the floor and you wish you could stop the time before he lands. It’s like watching a movie where you want to pause and rewind a million times so you can avoid witnessing the moment your baby falls for the first time .

But since that is not possible, you are forced to watch your baby’s little body touch the floor while your world becomes foggy.

How to prevent a fall

There is no way you can prevent a one-year-old who is learning to walk from falling. You can also not prevent a fall when your child is running, climbing or dancing. But there are thousands of ways you can prevent a baby who can barely move outside his mother’s arms from falling.

We just have to keep these things in mind:

Never leave your baby alone in bed

No one wants to see their child fall to the floor. But the majority of falls are caused by accidents that could have been avoided.

The biggest reason babies fall is because they have been left alone in bed.

Many mothers lay their babies on the bed to put them on clothes, change diapers, change bedding in the crib, etc. In those moments, they do not always have what they need nearby. So they walk away from the baby lying on the mattress, for a moment.

Since the baby does not yet know how to roll over on his stomach, or if he can barely move, the mother is not considering the possibility of the baby falling to the floor. But the baby surprises her. While looking for his mother, or trying to see something that has caught his attention, he magically rolls around. And in a split second, he falls to the floor.

Mom, if you want to prevent your baby from hitting the floor, never leave him alone in bed.

Make sure your bathroom is safe

When your baby falls for the first time, it is usually at bath time. These small bouncing bodies, which are smeared in soap while in your arms, are a great danger .

For this reason, bath time should be made as safe as possible. There is a great risk of falling.

In the past, when the bathroom did not exist, people bathed their babies over the bed. But in our well-developed world, this method may seem very old-fashioned. However, it is one of the safest methods.

Lay a layer of nylon on the bed to prevent it from getting wet. Place the bathtub over the nylon sheet. This way, your baby will not land on the floor if he slips out of your hands.

Focus on your baby when he is in your arms

We tend to perform different tasks while holding our babies. This is not just a trend, it is also a need.

Mothers are no longer housewives as they were in the past. The 24 hours of the day are not enough to keep track of the housework, our personal needs, relaxation and our baby.

When you have to do something else while holding your baby, it is important that you do not become inattentive to him. There is nothing more important than that.

How to react when your baby falls for the first time (and every other time)

If for some reason your baby falls, you need to know how to react. We therefore offer the following advice:

  • Examine your baby. If he has scratches and starts to bleed, clean the wound, put pressure on it and drive him to the emergency room. If a bruise forms, apply ice to it to reduce swelling.
  • Kiss your baby, hug him and sing for him. If you are not feeling well, if you are falling, or if something is hurting, then you will feel better when someone takes care of you. The same goes for your child.
  • Pick him up right away, but do not shake him. If he has injuries, you can aggravate it by shaking him.
  • Observer. When you are sick and go to the doctor, he always recommends that the patient observes his symptoms – and it’s not too funny. If your child hits his head when she falls and has a concussion, symptoms will soon appear that will reveal the damage: vomiting, loss of consciousness, cramps, nosebleeds, etc. You should take your baby to the doctor immediately if some of these symptoms occur.

Now you know what to do when your baby falls for the first time – and every other time. Finally, let us know if you yourself have any good advice you want to share with us.
